Richard specialises in accountancy, audit and tax planning for owner managed businesses. His portfolio has a wide range of SME clients in various business sectors including hospitality, technology and property. He also specialises in helping new businesses through clear and tailored advice on finance and strategy and assisting set-up on Xero; with the firm now being a certified adviser for this accounting software provider.
Richard graduated from the University of Exeter and went on to qualify as a chartered accountant in the central London audit department of national practice PKF. He then worked in industry for Conde Nast Publications before moving back into practice and joining the firm in 2011.

Vishal joined the practice in 2000 and he manages a wide portfolio of business clients, including start-ups , owner- managed business , medium size enterprises and unincorporated entities. Vishal has worked with clients in a wide variety of industries and sectors including property development and investment ,retail , professional services. He also overseas portfolio of audit clients and provides tax planning services , covering corporate and personal tax matters.
Vishal is responsible for co-ordinating all services provided to his clients. He acts as primary contact for his clients.
Away from work , Vishal enjoys playing tennis, football and most of all spending time with his family. He is a supporter of the mighty Liverpool Football club.

Simon is a general practitioner with a focus on:
- Advising entrepreneurs and family businesses encompassing business start-up, expansion and succession planning
- Private client advisory work in all areas of income and capital taxes
- SME corporate clients providing management and tax advice

Simon joined Bartrum Lerner, now part of SBL, shortly after it had been established in the late 1980’s and became a partner of that firm in 1991. During this time Simon has acted for a wide range of individuals as well as corporate and business clients particularly those in the media, legal and professional services sectors.
Simon advises families and individuals (often advising several generations of one family) on all aspects of tax and financial and business affairs including dealing with family trusts as well as planning for succession.
In the corporate field his work involves advising clients on suitable business structures, on acquisitions and disposals as well as being involved work in business restructurings and demergers. Simon is a senior member of the audit group in the practice.

Stephen was a founding partner of Bartrum Lerner in 1988 and in 2013 the firm merged with Sinclairs to form SBL.
Stephen has an extensive private client base and also acts for a number of companies and businesses, with particular interest in media, property and professional partnerships.
As well as being a Chartered Accountant, Stephen is also a qualified tax advisor.
Away from the office, Stephen spends a lot of time on the golf course looking for his ball, and is constantly apologising to his two sons for supporting Aston Villa.

Neil Joined Bartrum Lerner in March 1996, and has worked with Stephen Lerner and Simon Kinna for nearly 20 years. He was appointed manager of Bartrum Lerner in February 2002. Neil’s specialities include business advice and support for small and medium size entities, including:
- Business start-up planning
- VAT
- Payroll
Neil also has many years’ experience in dealing with small and medium sized companies in connection with corporate tax planning, reporting and company secretarial assistance.

Kelvin joined the firm in 2015 after spending 17 years with a Big 4 Private Client and Entrepreneurial Business practice. He qualified as a Chartered Taxation Advisor in 2000.
Kelvin is primarily involved in advising High Net Worth individuals/families and Owner Managers on their personal taxation affairs. Kelvin also advises clients on tax efficient structuring, in particular for property transactions and exit/succession planning. He works closely with clients other professional advisors, often leading the coordination of complex transactions such as business disposals and implementing planning strategies for Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax mitigation.
Kelvin is keen to understand clients’ commercial objectives and takes a particular interest in helping clients devise and monitor their personal and business tax strategy.
Outside of the office, when not spending time with his family, Kelvin enjoys watching live music and follows Cardiff City and Glamorgan Cricket.
